Brotman Named 2025 AMC Coach of the Year

Brotman Named 2025 AMC Coach of the Year- Wil Teague, Sports Inforamtion Director, 11/13/25

St. Louis, MO- At tonight's dinner banquet, to kickstart the American Midwest Volleyball Conference Tournament, the AMC released All-Conference awards, and along with the five Pioneer players who received conference recognition, would also be the Pioneer Coaching Staff with 2nd year Head Coach Carol Brotman being named the AMC's Coach of the Year and 1st year Assitant Coach Laura Holcomb being named the AMC's Assistant Coach of the Year. This marks the first major end-of-year coaching award won by a Pioneer Coach in the AMC.

The dynamite duo of Brotman and Holcomb has helped propel this year's team farther than dreamed of with their chemistry with the team and with one another. Their coaching style and leadership has helped the program soar both on and off the court all season long. Brotman has led the Pioneers to a 17-20 overall record along with a 14-4 conference record this season, marking their best regular-season finish in the NAIA era.

Brotman returns to the AMC postseason for the second season in a row and looks to earn her first postseason win as the 2024 campaign came to a close with a loss to Columbia in the opening round last season. Brotman, Holcomb, and the #3-seeded Pioneers will face off against the #6-seeded Comets of Cottey College tomorrow at 1:00 PM in round one of the AMC Tournament.
