Crowley's Ridge Baseball capped their season by hosting Southeastern Baptist College in a doubleheader yesterday, Friday, April 26th. In both contests, Crowley's Ridge would rise above the Chargers, claiming both games; sending the five graduating seniors off with two last home wins at Pioneer Park.

Game One:

Crowley's Ridge- 6

Southeastern Baptist- 5

Paragould, Ark.- Game one came down to the wire, with the CRC Pioneers grabbing the walk-off victory over Southeastern Baptist as sophomore Kade Lindgren's monstrous day at the plate concluded with the outfielder driving in the winning runs with his third hit of the game in the CRC's final stand. Heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Pioneers trailed the Chargrges 6-1 as CRC's offense had only mustered one run in the contest, which scored in the fourth off an RBI single from none other than the bat of Kade Lindgren. In the Pioneers' final stand, the offense regrouped by putting the first three batters on base with singles from Jackson Imler and Kenny Nelms, along with an HBP from Eli Milam, setting up Brylan Honeycutt's single to score CRC's first two runs of their game-winning inning. The next Pioneer run reached home thanks to plate discipline with Andrew Brown and Josh Schmitt drawing walks, scoring Nelms and cutting the deficit to just one run, 5-4. In dramatic fashion, two batters later, with two outs, Lindgren activated the clutch gene by roping a ball up the middle bringing in two, and walking off the game. CRC's offense amassed seven hits on which they scored their six runs with Lindgren leading the charge going (3-4) with three RBIs. Brylan Honeycutt added to CRC's cause with his (1-4) two-RBI game. Jack Roney picked up his third win by throwing all 7.0 innings, where the RHP allowed five runs off ten hits while walking one and striking out six.

Game Two:

Crowley's Ridge-9

Southeastern Baptist-2

Paragould, Ark.- In game two, the Pioneers wouldn't waste much time as CRC left little doubt of their endgame plans as the offense linked together one of the biggest hit efforts of the season with the Pioneers scoring their nine runs off a whopping fifteen hits in their season finale contest. Two long balls were hit by the Pioneers in the win with Brylan Honeycutt and Kade Lindgren each smacking a two-run shot with Honeycutt connecting first with his bomb in the second inning and Lindgren following suit with his in the third.  Chance Arender stood tall on the bump allowing just two runs on four scattered hits in seven full innings while walking three and striking out two. Five Pioneers collected two or more hits with senior Josh Schmitt leading the charge with his farewell performance going (3-4) with two doubles and four RBIs. Brylan Honeycutt also went (3-4) in the win with two RBI thanks to his homer. Seniors Andrew Brown and Eli Milam also added to CRC's cause with respectable (2-3) performances in their final game at Pioneer Park.

The Pioneers officially capped their season, ending with an overall record of 11-23 and 2-7 in conference. Until next season, #GOPIONEERS
