Pioneers baseball succumbed to the Royals in both contests today, facing the road series sweep by Ecclesia College, leaving CRC still in search of the season's first win.
Game 3

Seneca, MO- The Royals claimed the opening game of the day with a similar attack as yesterday's play style, surging ahead of the Pioneers with one massive inning. CRC got the first runs of the game to the plate in the second inning with freshman Alex Gamez tripling to right field in his Pioneer debut at-bat, scoring junior Clay Burgess and senior Blake Wilson with the big swing. Two batters later, Gamez would make the 90 feet home with the help of a botched play by the Royals. The Pioneers final run crossed in the 5th with Rilyn Coleman scoring on a second throwing error by the Royals. For Ecclesia College, the Royals scored 11 runs off 10 hits with the bulk of them coming in a 7 run fourth inning. This jump proved to hold off the Pioneers as they finished the contest with their 4 runs off 3 base knocks. Jack Roney took the loss as the starter surrendered 7 runs (5 earned) off 8 hits while walking 1 and striking out 4 in 4.0 innings on the mound. Gamez led the offense going 1-3 (3B 2RBI).

Seneca, MO- In the last game of the series, the Royals pitching staff delivered the shut-out win over CRC, waiving 8 Pioneer hitters in the contest. CRC managed 4 hits as a team with junior Conner Boan being perfect in the game going 3-3 with a pair of singles and one double. JackHenry Glasgow tossed 5 solid innings for the Pioneers, spacing 5 runs (2 earned) off 9 hits in 5.0 innings of work. Freshman Brayden Mashek relieved Glasgow, throwing the final frame, surrendering no hits, and striking out 1 in his collegiate debut.
