19 Missouri Baptist Spartans Sweep Pioneers- Wil Teague, Sports Information Director, 3/11/25

The No.19 Spartans of Missouri Baptist University swiftly defeated Crowley's Ridge in today's rescheduled doubleheader, blasting 13 homers throughout the two contests. 

Game 1

Crowley's Ridge- 0

Missouri Baptist- 27

St. Louis, MO- The Spartans blasted their way ahead of the Pioneers, hitting eight long balls in the opening contest to soundly defeat CRC. Missouri Baptist pitching also held up their end of the bargain by shutting down the Pioneers to one base hit by Pioneer Matthew Parker in the top of the third. Brayden Mashek took the loss for Crowley's Ridge College

Game 2

Missouri Baptist- 24

St. Louis, MO- The Pioneers improved their offensive effort by scoring 2 runs, summoning six hits in the second go-round against the Spartans. Senior Blake Wilson delivered the two runs with a two-out, two RBI double to right center in the top of the fourth, making the score 11-2 in favor of the Spartans. Woefully, the Spartans wouldn't allow another Pioneer run with Missouri Baptist stranding nine Pioneers on the base paths. Blake Wilson led the offense going 2 for 4. Mike Sharp took the loss for the Pioneers. 

Up Next: Pioneer Baseball will travel to Conway, Ark. to take on Central Baptist College for an American Midwest Conference series over Friday and Saturday, March 14th and 15th. #GOPIONEERS
