Pioneer Baseball split games today against American Midwest Conference opponent Central Baptist College (13-12, 10-4 AMC).  The Pioneers settle in at (4-20, 4-10 AMC).

Game 1

Crowley's Ridge- 6

Central Baptist- 4

Little Rock, Ark.- JackHenry Glasgow earned his second win of the year, as the veteran RHP opened the weekend conference series with 6.0 stout innings from the mound helping the Pioneers to a 6-4 win over the Mustangs in game one. The Pioneers' offense delivered the bulk of their runs in the top of the third after the contest resumed play from a 33-minute weather delay. In the productive inning, CRC scored four runs as junior Clay Burgess kicked off the chain drawing the bases-loaded walk to score the Pioneers' first run. Junior James Wilson followed Burgess' at-bat with a 2 RBI single through the left side and senior Adonis Thomas capped the innings by driving in Burgess with a fielder's choice. The Mustangs would scrap one run each inning of the next three frames, but the Pioneers countered by maintaining their lead with junior Trey Drake driving in a fifth Pioneer run with an RBI double in the fifth, and junior Conner Boan bringing in a sixth run with an RBI single in the sixth. Senior Adonis Thomas earned his first save of the year, closing out the game for CRC in the 7th, allowing no hits and striking out two. Glasgow improved to 2-3 on the year, allowing 4 runs off 9 hits while walking one and striking out one in his outing. Boan led the offense going 2 for 3 with a double and one RBI.

Game 2

Crowley's Ridge- 0

Central Baptist- 7

Little Rock, Ark.- After a great start to the series, the Pioneers faced retaliation from the Mustangs' pitching staff, being shut out in game two despite mustering a second consecutive seven-hit effort from the plate. The Pioneers would leave seven runners stranded on the base paths. Junior and Sikeston, MO native Trey Drake led the offense going 2 for 4 with two singles. With the lack of run support, senior Chance Arender was faced with the loss, allowing 6 runs off 9 hits and striking out 5 in 5.2 innings of work.
