Mission University (20-11 & 14-8 AMC) took the opening doubleheader from the Pioneers (6-26 & 6-16 AMC), defeating CRC 15-8 in game one before running away with game two by a score of 18-1.

Game 1

Paragould, Ark.- The series opener saw a total of 23 hits in the seven innings with the Patriots leading the Pioneers 12 to 11 in their seven-run win over CRC. Mission University rallied in the late innings of the opening contest to take the matchup from the Pioneers, as CRC led the Patriots by scoring 8 runs throughout the first four innings. Mission separated from the Pioneers in the sixth, pushing 3 runs across, breaking an 8-8 tie, before adding 4 more in the top of the seventh to secure their placement. Juniors James Wilson and Trey Drake led the offense with multi-hit games. Wilson posted a 3 for 4 stat line with a double, run scored, and 3 RBIs. Drake followed going 2 for 3, with an HR, double, 3 runs scored, 2 RBIs, and 1 walk. JackHenry Glasgow got the no-decision, allowing 6 runs off 5 hits in 3.2 innings. Brayden Mashek took the loss for the Pioneers, allowing 7 runs off 5 hits in 1.2 innings. 


Game 2

Paragould, Ark.- In game two, the Patriots again ran away with the contest in the sixth frame as Mission University pushed 8 runs across the plate, expanding their lead and ensuring the Pioneers' demise. Heading into the sixth, CRC trailed the Patriots 6-1 with Adonis Thomas bringing in the Pioneer's sole run with the senior hitting his second home run of the season back in the second inning, but soon the Pioneers would turn to face the music as the Patriots built off their persuasive inning by tacking on 4 more in the 7th, coasting to the conference win. The Pioneers mustered 4 hits in the game. Thomas led the team, going 1 for 3 with an HR, RBI, and a run scored. Trey Drake, Parker Gordon, and Alex Gamez each had one hit in the loss. Chance Arender took the loss, allowing 9 runs (7 earned) off 7 hits while walking 3 and striking out 3 in 5.1 innings.
