DeVault Hits for the Cycle in Midweek Matchup Against Sabercats- Wil Teague, Sports Information Director, 3/24/26
Crowley's Ridge improved back to .500 on the season with two blowout wins at Pioneer Park this afternoon over Maranatha Baptist. Sophomore Lawson DeVault led the charge in both contests by hitting for the program's second-ever cycle in game one, totaling three homers, and driving in 13 RBIs on the day.
Game One:
Crowley's Ridge- 26
Maranatha Baptist- 0
Pioneer Park- Crowley's Ridge smashed out 18 hits in game one to drive in 23 RBI in their 26-0 victory over the Sabercats. A twelve-run second inning by the Pioneers set the tone in the contest, pulling all things in favor of the Pioneers. Five batters collected multiple hits in the contest, but were led by Farmington, AR native Lawson DeVault, who joined teammate Trey Drake in the record books by hitting for the cycle in the contest, going 4-4 and driving in 7 runs. Junior JP Wills increased his single-season home run record to 8 with the Siloam Springs, AR, native blasting a solo shot in the first, and Lucas Peel getting his victory lap in with his second long ball of the year in the 6th to drive in three for the day. Juniors Parker Gordon and Aiden Smith were the final two Pioneers to drive in multiple runs, with Gordon knocking in 3 and Smith driving in two. Crowley's Ridge's pitching staff combined for a one-hitter in the win, with Brennon Burch taking the win on the mound.
Game Two:
Crowley's Ridge- 16
Maranatha Baptist- 0
Pioneer Park- The Pioneers coasted to a second big win in game two, defeating the Sabercats 16-0 with another montage of hits with 17 base knocks and 13 RBI. Much like game one, the Pioneers took control early in the contest, this time with 10 runs in the bottom of the first. Lawson DeVault again led the offense, going 3-3 with two home runs and a double to drive in 6 more runs for the Pioneers. Four other Pioneers, Aiden Smith, Reece Bariola, Kolby Webb, and JP Wills, each added two hits in the contest to allow the team to finish with 5 or more players with multiple hits for a consecutive game. CRC's pitching staff stayed dominant, allowing 6 hits this go-round but would remain blemishless, combining for the shutout win. Brayden Mashek took the win, improving to 5-3 on the year.
