PARAGOULD, AR - Randy Stanley scored a game high 33 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as the Pioneers of Crowley's Ridge College pulled out a 96-86 win over Rust College on Thursday night.
CRC jumped out early in the first half and took a quick 23 point lead after a three point basket by Travis O'Bannon put the Pionners up 31-8 at the 10:28 mark. CRC would push the lead to as much as 25 in the first half and take a 50-26 lead into halftime.
Rust College would come storming back in the second half. Quentin Pough scored for the Bearcats to cut the lead down to 12 points at 67-55 with 11:31 to play. CRC followed that with a 11-1 run to give them a 78-56 lead with 7:58 left in the game. Rust would make another run at the Pioneers and cut the lead to nine points at 85-76 with 3:31 left in the game.
CRC would finish with baskets by Randy Stanley and Caleb Barnes to seal the win in the final minute of the game.
Kyle Moore scored 18 points with seven assists and seven rebounds for the Pioneers. Austin Pike added 13 points and Caleb Barnes added 11 points in the win.
