PARAGOULD, AR - Crowley's Ridge played an up and down game on Thursday night before pulling out the 86-77 win over a feisty Rust College Bearcats team.
CRC traded baskets for the first four minutes of the game with Rust before an 11-2 run pushed CRC up 19-10 with 11:57 in the first half. A three point basket by DeMaunte Youngblood with 4:45 to play in the half gave the Pioneers their largest lead of the night at 37-20. Rust would follow that with a 13-2 run of their own and CRC lead 39-33 at the break.
The game would be tied twice early in the second half and Rust took the lead four times before the Pioneers would gain a spark and push to a 10 point lead after Logan Willett made a couple of free throws. CRC led 65-55 with 8:57 to play.
Rust would make a couple of runs at the Pioneers but could get no closer than three points with 5:35 left in the game.
Randy Stanley led CRC with 22 points and 10 rebounds. DeMaunte Youngblood added 20 points and seven rebounds, while Kyle Moore scored 13 points. Bo Roberson added 12 points in the Pioneer win.
