Turnovers doom Pioneers

PARAGOULD, Ark. - Crowley's Ridge College was outscored 40 to 7 in points off turnovers and Blue Mountain (Miss.) College knocked down 11 of 28 from the three-point line en route to a 97-66 Toppers win on Monday night.

CRC (0-2) finished the night with 28 turnovers. The Pioneers started the night by giving away 13 turnovers in the first half and trailed 58-33 to Blue Mountain (2-0) at the break.

Freshman Braxton Cousins was a bright spot for CRC on the night. He tossed in 24 points and added seven rebounds. Ke Roberson added 11 points and Micah Duncan scored 10 points with seven assists in the Pioneer loss.

Crowley's Ridge falls to 0-2 on the young season as Blue Mountain improves to 2-0.

The Pioneers will rest until the weekend when they travel to Pensacola, Florida, for a meeting with the Pensacola Christian (Fla.) College Eagles on Friday, November 12 at 6 p.m. CDT.
