Cousins carries Pioneers to win

PARAGOULD, Ark. - Freshman Braxton Cousins scored a career-high 44 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Crowley's Ridge College Pioneers to a 95-91 win over Pensacola Christian (Fla.) College.

Cousins' 44 points are the second highest Crowley's Ridge (1-10) point total behind Zach Mitchell who scored 51 points on January 25, 2011. His final stat line was 44 points on 16-23 shooting and 12-21 from the free throw line. He broke the free throws attempted and field goals attempted in single-game records.

Freshman Alex Mero added 22 points and 11 rebounds on the day. J.D. Smith added 10 points and J.M. Gregg and Ke Roberson contributed 12 rebounds each in the win. Roberson also handed out eight assists in the afternoon defeat of the Pensacola Christian (3-8) Eagles.
