PARAGOULD, Ark. - A 44-point game that featured twin record-breaking performances has earned Crowley's Ridge College freshman Braxton Cousins the Continental Athletic Conference men's basketball Player of the Week award.

The forward's 44 points contributed mightily to the Pioneers' first victory of the season, 95-91 against Pensacola Christian (Fla.) College last Saturday. It also nearly broke a school record of 51 points.

However, Cousins did write his name in the record book for field goal attempts (23) and free throw attempts (21).

The Drasco native made 16 of his 23 shots (69.6 percent), grabbed seven rebounds, and had four assists in the home triumph.

For the season, Cousins is averaging 22.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 65 percent from the floor across 11 games.
