Pioneers fall short to Wildcats

PARAGOULD, Ark. – Crowley's Ridge College shot 55.2% in the second half but could not cut into the Bethel (Tenn.) University Wildcats lead and fell 87-78.

Bethel took a five-point lead into the half, but the Pioneers (1-11) could not get consecutive defensive stops and offensive baskets to cut into the lead. Bethel used 12 offensive rebounds and 11 second-chance points to add to their lead late and pull out the win.

Bethel (9-3) defeated the Pioneers 102-62 back on November 23 in McKenzie, Tennessee.

Freshman Alex Mero led CRC with 22 points and seven rebounds. Braxton Cousins added 21 points and seven rebounds while playing through foul trouble on the night.
