PIONEERS TAKE HOME WIN OVER EAGLES
PARAGOULD, AR - Zak Brown led Crowley's Ridge College with 18 points and seven assists as the Pioneers defeated Pensacola Christian College 78-62.
Pensacola opened the game with a 9-4 lead in the first four minutes of play. After a CRC timeout and a Timquorian Johnson basket, the Pioneers offense started to roll. Back to back three pointers by Trent McGowan tied the score at 13 each with 15:10 to play in the first half. The Pioneers went on an 8-0 run to end the first half and take a 43-27 lead into halftime.
CRC led by as much as 20 points with 7:06 to play in the game after Caleb Wade made a three pointer to put CRC up 69-49.
Braxton Cousins added 16 points with 10 rebounds and Trent McGowan scored 13 points on three for four three pointers. Caleb Wade came off the bench with 12 points on four for seven from the three point line. Timquorian Johnson handed eight of CRC's 23 assists on the day.
