Bio

Chris Perkins enters his 18th season as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Crowley’s Ridge College and his 22nd season as a Head Coach overall. He is also entering his second year as the Athletic Director at CRC. Perkins became the All-Time Career Wins Leader in Crowley’s Ridge College history on February 20, 2016, with a 94-71 win over Baptist Bible (Mo.) College passing former Head Coach Paul McFadden. 

Recognized as one of the top small college basketball recruiters, Perkins coached the Pioneers for two seasons from 2005 to 2007, before taking the boys’ basketball job at Alabama Christian Academy in Montgomery, Alabama. He returned to Paragould before the 2009 season.

He has 27 years of experience as a basketball coach at Alabama Christian Academy in Montgomery, Alabama, Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee, Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee, and at Crowley’s Ridge College.

Coach Perkins received his degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Freed-Hardeman University in 1994. Coach Perkins serves as a deacon for the Center Hill Church of Christ in Paragould. He has been a frequent speaker to area clubs and churches and a guest speaker for several basketball camps across the southeast. He has been married to Dalea since 1993. They have one son Avery, a former Pioneer and 2024 CRC graduate, who is married to Lindsey, a former Pioneer Women's Basketball player and 2024 graduate. They also have one daughter, Ava, a freshman at Crowley's Ridge Academy.
