Golf Concludes Evangel Valor Spring Invitational- Wil Teague, Sports Inforamtion Director, 3/12/25
Springfield, MO—Crowley's Ridge golfing trio, consisting of senior Walker Hibbs and freshmen Reece Kieffner and Hogan Nelson, capped their Spring invitational opener yesterday afternoon. The three Pioneers finished a delayed round two before taking one last trip around the course in the final 18.
After concluding day one leading the team, freshman Reece Kieffner maintained his position and finished the delayed round two at +6, dropping eight strokes from his first-round effort. In round three, Kieffner ran into resistance finishing the contest 9 strokes higher forcing the freshman to a +35 final tally placing him four spots down to finish 29th individually.
Hogan Nelson stayed the Pioneers' middle man with the lefty playing the team's most consistent golf of the invitational. Nelson, who left round two at +11, would finish the round matching his round one score of +13 over par before shaving off two strokes in the final 18 giving him a total of +37, landing him tied for 35th overall.
Senior Walker Hibbs took the third-place finish as the Walnut Ridge native finished up round two by adding three strokes to his paused score of +17, before having the biggest turnaround of day two. Hibbs dropped 4 strokes in the final round, jumping four slots on the scoreboard and wrapping up his last Spring opener at +55 and in 44th place.
