Pioneer Golf in 8th After Opening 18- Wil Teague, Sports Inforamtion Director, 10/6/25

Alton, IL- Pioneer Golf teed off this morning in Missouri Baptist University's Fall Invite, and at the closing putts of day one, the Pioneers sit in 8th place, totaling 339 strokes (+51). 

For the team, freshman Christopher Riddle would once more pace the squad with the young Pioneer shooting a team low 81 (+9) for the round. Riddle found three birdies on the day, sinking holes 1,5, and 15. Riddle sits in 27th place overall. Second for the squad is Slayde Barker, who jumped on slot higher from his last invitational day one finish. Barker caught one birdie on hole 18, capping his card with an 83 (+11) score for the round and landing him in 30th place. Christian Walls resides in third for the Pioneers as he also secured only one birdie for the day. Like Riddle, Walls started his round on the right note with his bird coming on hole 1. Walls totaled 84 (+12) strokes, placing him 33rd overall. Blake Brothers rounded off the team score with the sophomore finishing the trip with a 91 (+19). Kyle Russell finished in the Pioneers alternate position with his 92 (+20) round.
