Alton, IL- Pioneer Golf wrapped up their third Fall Invitational with a final 18 holes on the course at the Spencer T. Olin Golf Course in Alton, IL, earlier today, finishing in 8th place with 676 total swings to shoot (+100) over as a team.
Individual Scores:
Freshman Christopher Riddle would finish where he left off day one for the team, pacing the Pioneers for the 36 holes thanks to his new and improved second-round score of 75 (+3). Riddle shaved off 6 swings from round one and sank two more birdies in the final 18. Riddle would total 156 swings to finish (+12) over and jump up to end 19th in the tournament.
Christian Walls climbed one slot on the team to take second, bouncing back by also dropping 6 strokes in round two. Walls would find a sole birdie this round but would end his time in Alton with an eagle on hole 18. Walls totaled 162 swings (+18) for the two-day event, landing in 30th overall.
Blake Brothers would also climb one slot, finishing third for the team for the third time this Fall. The sophomore dropped 4 strokes in today's trip to give him a score of 87, bringing him to 178 swings (+34) for a 45th-place finish.
After a second-place finish for the Pioneers at the end of the opening round, freshman Slayde Barker dropped to finish fourth for the team, as negative progression ultimately got the better of the young Pioneer. Barker added 14 strokes in the second round, ending the day with a score of 97 (+25). Barker would sink one birdie in the round, on hole number 6, finishing with 180 strokes (+36), falling to 47th place.
