Batesville, Ark.- Pioneer Cross Country hit the road to Batesville, AR, to compete in Lyon College's XC Invitational and returned to the Ridge with some hardware, with Arthur Jonson of the Men's team bringing home 13th place and Madison Prysock of the Women's team taking 12th in their respective divisions.

For the ladies, two runners made the trip this go-round, with sophomore Aimee Buckley and freshman Madison Prysock hitting the course. In her first collegiate race, Prysock paced the duo by sniffing out a sub twenty-seven-minute finish in the 5-K race with an official time of 26:59, earning 12th place in the race. Buckley followed teammate Prysock with a 20th-place finish, crossing the finish line with a 37:37 time score. 

In the Men's division, 4 runners crossed the finish line for the Pioneers with Arthur Johnson at the helm of the squad, foot-racing for 13th overall with an official time of 20:33 for the 5-K. Right on the heels of Johnson is sophomore runner Mark Eagleman, who broke even, hitting the 21:00-minute finish for 16th place overall. Owenn Marino took third on the team, keeping up with his teammates as the freshman took 19th overall with an official time of 21:21. Lastly, senior Nate Ferguson capped the finishers for the Pioneers with the Little Rock native finishing 30th overall with his 32:25 minute effort. 

Up Next: The Pioneers will take to the trails again this coming Friday, September 12th, as they participate in the Steve Guymon XC Invite hosted by Harding University. #GOPIONEERS
