SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Working around the rains of northwest Arkansas, Crowley's Ridge softball managed to squeeze in three games against the Royals of Ecclesia (Ark.) College. The opening game saw CRC jump ahead with a 7-4 win, before run-ruling the Royals in games two and three, with an 11-3 victory followed by a 19-9 win

GAME ONE

Crowley's Ridge – 7

Ecclesia – 4

Kaitlyn Stebelton (SR/Crosby, Texas) opened the day for Crowley's Ridge (16-14) with a leadoff triple, later coming home off of Sammi Henry (SR/Marmaduke, Ark.)'s RBI single. Henry herself would score thanks to Rachel Russell (SR/Russellville, Ark.)'s RBI double to put the Lady 'Neers ahead by two before allowing Ecclesia to bat.

Back-to-back doubles from Henry and Russell helped propel Crowley's Ridge to a 5-0 advantage over Ecclesia (1-34) in the second inning.

All four of EC's runs came off of the bat of Gabby Moore, who blasted two two-run homers in consecutive at-bats in the fourth and the sixth innings.

Henry's two-run single in the top of the sixth inning put the game out of reach for the Royals, as CRC opened the day with a 7-4 victory.

Henry had three of CRC's 13 hits and drove in four runs for the Lady 'Neers. Bailey Jones (FR/Fairfield, Texas), April Kennedy (JR/Marmaduke, Ark.), Rachel Russell, and Stebelton each tallied two hits each.

Henry also earned the victory in the circle, giving up three hits in four innings of work. By tossing three effective innings, Hannah Powell (SR/Piggott, Ark.) picked up her first save of the season.

GAME TWO

Crowley's Ridge – 11

Ecclesia – 3

Crowley's Ridge (17-14) plated runs in all but one inning, capped off by a four-run sixth inning to earn the second win of the day.

A walk and two stolen bases landed Kaitlyn Stebelton on third base, allowing her to score easily on Sammi Henry's groundout. The Royals (1-35) answered with a pair of runs in the home half of the first inning to take a 2-1 lead. That lead did not last when back-to-back singles from Bailey Jones and Madyson McDermott (SR/Charleston, Mo.) translating to two runs for CRC as the green and black took a 3-2 lead after two complete innings

Lacey Lambright (JR/Harrisburg, Ark.) added to the run total by hitting a two-run single in the top of the third inning. Jones pushed runs across in the top of the fifth inning with a two-run single of her own to push CRC ahead 7-3 after the fifth inning.

CRC plated four runs in the top of the sixth inning sparked by McDermott's two-run single. Crowley's Ridge would pound out 16 hits in an 11-3 run-rule victory after six.

The win was a total team effort with five different players driving in multiple runs. April Kennedy, Lambright, Jones, Lambright, and Stebelton driving in two runs each. Lambright was a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate.

Madyson McDermott started in the circle but did not qualify for the win as she was replaced by Henry in the fourth inning, who picked up her second win of the day.
