April Kennedy named CAC Hitter of the Week

PARAGOULD, Ark. – Crowley's Ridge College senior April Kennedy has been named the Continental Athletic Conference softball Hitter of the Week.

Kennedy had six hits over 13 at-bats in four games last weekend at the Pioneer Classic. The outfielder drove in four runs across six games for the week.

For the week, the Marmaduke, Arkansas, native batted .444, with eight hits, and scored six runs. She went 2-for-4 and scored a run in a 7-2 win against Ecclesia College (Arkansas) last Friday and duplicated that feat in the second game of the day, against Southwestern Christian University (Oklahoma).

The outfielder also played superb defense in that second game, tumbling over the center field fence while making a catch to rob a Southwestern Christian hitter of a home run.

Kennedy is hitting at a .303 clip this season and is two hits shy of moving into fourth place on the program's career hits record list.
