Lady Pioneers 4-0 In Texas- Wil Teague, Sports Information Director, 4-8-23
Game One:
Crowley's Ridge- 4
Dallas Christian- 3
Dallas, TX- CRC Lady Pioneers continued their winning streak as they swept Dallas Christian in today's doubleheader. Shelby Elrod led the Lady Pioneers to the win as she collected her third win of the week from the circle. Bailey Cupples opened up CRC's offensive day as she rocketed her 4th homer of the year with a solo shot to center field in the top of the second giving CRC the 1-0 lead. Cupples's efforts allowed CRC to hold the lead for one inning until Dallas Christian manufactured a home run of their own. This one came with a little more baggage as there were 2 runners on and after it was said and done it gave the hosting team a 3-1 lead over CRC. The Pioneers wouldn't trail for long as they again mustered runs against Dallas Christian. Piper Farmer changed the score of the game in the fourth inning when she smoked a 2 RBI double to right field making things even at 3-3. The end-game determining run was generated in the top of the fifth as Bailey Cupples once more clutched up and came through for the Lady Pioneers. This time Cupples singled up the gut driving across Hannah Burk for the go-ahead run. This is all the lead that Elrod would need as she and the Lady Pioneer defense kept Dallas Christian at bay for the remainder of the game.

Dallas, TX- Crowley's Ridge College wrapped up their weekend in Texas in a big way as they completed the shutout of Dallas Christian in the final game. The Lady Pioneers' final 3 runs of the game were assembled in the 7th as Melson continued her day at the plate, doubling to left field and scoring Bryant once more allowing Jocelyn Villarreal to cap the weekend off with a bang as the sophomore crushed a 2 run homerun to dead center scoring Heather Conaway.
