Game One: (7-innings)
Crowley's Ridge-3
Freed-Hardeman- 8
Paragould, AR- The Lions powered their way to an 8-3 victory over the Pioneers in today's opening non-conference matchup, using a late offensive rally to pull away from the Pioneers. After three scoreless frames to open the game, the Lions broke through in the fourth inning with a two-run rally to take control. They continued to apply pressure throughout the middle innings before delivering the decisive blow, plating three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to fend off CRC.
Like FHU, CRC got on the board in the fourth frame with an RBI single from Aimme Buckley. CRC would again score single runs in the fifth and seventh innings off Lion mishaps, but would be capped at three runs with the Lions' pitching staff delivering a stout performance, fanning eleven Pioneer hitters. CRC totaled seven hits in the game and left 10 runners stranded on base. Sophomore Aimee Buckley and Olivia Lanham led the offense with two hits apiece.
Game Two:(6-innings)
Crowey's Ridge- 1
Freed-Hardeman- 10
Paragould, AR- In game two, the Lions of FHU manufactured a second strong offensive performance, winning via run-rule, 10-1 after 6-innings. The Lions opened the contest with back-to-back three-run efforts in the first and second innings thanks to two three-run homers. FHU added to their cause with a single addition in the fourth inning and a final trio of runs in the sixth. Aimee Buckley drove in the Pioneers' sole run of the contest, scoring Carrie Anna Davis with a single down the right field line in the bottom of the first.
