Paragould, AR—In the opening contest at Pioneer Park, CRC rallied together behind starting pitcher Aimee Buckley, using timely hitting and a steady performance in the circle to secure a 6-4 victory over the Eutectics in the American Midwest Conference matchup.
After falling behind, the Pioneers responded with productive middle innings to reclaim the flow of the game. Trailing 1-0, the Pioneers broke through in the third inning with a three-run frame, highlighted by Buckley's clutch two-out, two RBI single to right field to place the Pioneers back in front of UHSP. The momentum continued into the fourth, where the Pioneers added two more runs to stretch their lead, thanks to a second two-out big swing from the Pioneers with sophomore Jordan Janak driving in two runs with a double to right-center. Senior Lilly Wessel topped off the Pioneers' runs an inning later, with the program's all-time homerun leader adding another to her total with a leadoff solo blast to dead away center.
