Crowley's Ridge Downed By #12 John Brown

SILOAM SPRINGS, AR - The Lady Pioneers were no match for the nationally ranked Golden Eagles, getting beat 89-55.

The ladies from John Brown University started strong from the tip-off and never looked back. They opened the game on a 9-0 run and held CRC to only eight first-quarter points.

The twelfth-ranked Golden Eagles shot 52.1% from the field and knocked down 13 of 30 (43.3%) three-pointers. Where the Lady Pioneers usually thrive from beyond the arc, that was just not the case this game. Crowley's Ridge could only hit seven of 28 (25%) from deep.

John Brown was led in scoring by Baily Cameron with 26 points.

Crowley's Ridge did have a bright spot in this match-up as freshman Kelcy Acklin was the only Pioneer scoring in double digits with 21 points (five of seven from three-point range) and nine rebounds. Elly Burrell added eight points and six rebounds and Jaelyan Jones contributed seven points and seven rebounds off the bench.

The Lady Pioneers will be back in action when they travel to Conway, AR to take on Central Baptist College on November 20th.
