Lady Pioneers Fall to John Brown
SILOAM SPRINGS, AR - The Crowley's Ridge College Lady Pioneers rounded out their weekend road trip with a visit to John Brown University on Saturday evening. After keeping it close through three quarters, John Brown extended their lead in the fourth to win 65-42.
Crowley's Ridge jumped out to an early 7-2 lead in the first five minutes of play and kept the game close by holding John Brown to 26% shooting from beyond the arc. While the turnover column was close between the two teams, John Brown scored twice as many points off those opponent mistakes. The Pioneers were out-rebounded 44-28, but they limited the Golden Eagles second chance points to just four.
CRC found themselves trailing by eight points going into the fourth quarter, but JBU stepped up to make big time shots and the Pioneers could not find an answer as the Eagles continued to extend their lead.
John Brown was led in scoring by Karina Chandra with 22 points.
Crowley's Ridge received contributions from several Pioneers. Alexus Taylor etched 10 points. Hannah Mauldin and Adrianne Chambers came off the bench with eight points and two steals a piece. Elly Burrell added seven points and five rebounds.
The Lady Pioneers will travel back to The Ridge for their first home game of the season against Philander Smith College on Tuesday, November 6th at 6:00 PM.
