Greenville, IL- The CRC Lady Pioneers broke their basketball drought due to the Holidays with a contest against NCAA Division III Greenville University earlier tonight in Greenville, IL. Crowley's Ridge pulled out the double digit road victory with assistance from the spotlight performance from Senior Point Guard Travia Woodruff. Woodruff commanded the floor on offense and flustered the Lady Panthers on defense as she led the Lady Pioneers in almost every stat category this evening. The Jonesboro, Ark native mustered a team high 17 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and 7 steals in the 10 point win. With Woodruff's 7 steal performance, she joins Sophomore teammate Brinley Morgan at the top of the single game steals record list. Crowley's Ridge had four other Lady Pioneers play an important role in the win with Junior Forward Makalya Herndon scoring a season high 13 points, Sophomore Reigiana Ward and Freshmen Kylan Stevens each bucketing 11 points, and Sophomore Hunter Gibson racking up a respectable 10 points on the night.
"After a rocky first half; we made adjustments to speed the game up and turn the tide in our favor. Any wins you can get on the road in non-conference are always a bonus." "Travia played so well. Our captain came through when we needed her most with senior leadership. Her stat line says it all." - Head Coach Chris Richardson
Up Next: The Lady Pioneers play again at home this Saturday, December the 2nd with a matchup against future AMC opponent Baptist Bible College at 2:00 PM in the Carter Activities Center. #GOPIONEERS
