Paragould, Ark.- The CRC Lady Pioneers opened up this weekend's Continental Athletic Conference Classic play at Paragould with a matchup against Florida National University. Earlier this season in Temple Terrace, FL the Pioneers snuck out a tough win against the Conquistadors with a 1-point thriller victory, 88-87 but FNU evened the score today as they defeated the Lady Pioneers on their home court, 89-76. Note, even though CRC fell by 13 points, the final score wouldn't reflect the actions in the contest as the Lady Pioneer fought valiantly for the game in its entirety. What ultimately determined the victor of the contest happened within the final six minutes of the play as the Conquistadors were able to swing things in their favor after a late 7-0 run. The Lady Pioneers saw the score tied 16 times and had 23 lead changes throughout the competition. Travia Woodruff led the Pioneers in all categories including missing a triple-double by one rebound. Woodruff led the offense with 16 points,11 assists, and 9 rebounds. Ansley Dawson added 15 points and Reigiana Ward finished with 10.
