Hot Springs, Ark.- This past Wednesday, February 7th, the Lady Pioneers traveled to Hot Springs, Ark. in search of revenge against the Lady Tigers of Champion Christian College who defeated CRC earlier this year at home with a 10-point gap, 89-79. After a thrilling contest, CRC drew the short end of the straw as the Tigers snuck out their second win of the season over CRC. In the contest, the fans and viewers witnessed 6 different score ties and a whopping 16 different lead changes throughout the 40 minutes of action. A combined 27 threes were made between both teams on the night totaling 81 points, in the shoot-out contest. The last lead change came at the 3:33 mark in the fourth quarter when Champion Christian reclaimed the lead 83-81 with a corner three, although CRC would bring the score within one on two occasions in the dwindling moments of the contest with Ansley Dawson making two shots from the charity strip at the 2:22 mark and then again with Kiyuana Foster hitting a jump shot at the 1:11 mark to make it 85-86. Sadly, this is as close as it would get as the Tigers held out defeating CRC, 93-85. Hunter Gibson led the Lady Pioneers with a double-double effort of 25 points and 10 rebounds. Reigiana Ward added 18 points in the loss. Ansley Dawson added 14 points for CRC. #GOPIONEERS
