Springfield, MO- The Lady Pioneers traveled to Springfield, MO to take on an 18-6 overall Lady Patriots team of Mission University for their final regular season contest before the start of their postseason play. Bouncing back from a tough loss at home against Arkansas Baptist last Saturday, February 17th, the Lady Pioneers clawed their way back and capped their regular season with one final win. In today's contest, the Lady Pioneers started fast, scaling ahead of the Lady Patriots by as much as 27 points in the first half, but with the defiant Mission Univesity, the Pioneers' lead was cut to 12 at the halftime break. Mission University changed gears in the third quarter, outscoring the Pioneers by 18 points with their 31-point performance, totally flipping the tables as CRC now trailed by 6 heading into the final quarter. Luckily for the Pioneer Nation, CRC didn't fold under the pressure but rose to the occasion by summoning their best quarter of the contest with 30 points, edging past the Patriots by a slim margin of 4 points, ending their regular season 11-16 overall.
Jordan Rasmussen led the team in threes off the bench as the 6'2 forward was perfect from the arc shooting 3-3. She finished with 11 points for the evening. Hunter Gibson added 16 points with Reigiana Ward besting her by one with 17 points, and lastly, the Pioneers were led by Ansley Dawson who ended with a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
