The Lady Pioneers defended their home court as they claimed the bounceback matchup against American Midwest Conferennce oppoent Harris-Stowe State University. The Pioneers improve to 5-1 on the year and 1-1 in the AMC.
Paragould, Ark.- The Lady Pioneers bounced back in their second AMC contest of the year after falling on Thursday, November 21st to UHSP. In today's contest, it would be a game-altering, fourth quarter push from the Lady Pioneers to project them over the Lady Hornets as Harris-Stowe came out on top in the first three quarters. Entering the final 10 minutes, the Pioneers trailed the Hornets by two, 55-53 thanks to the HSSU's 5-0 run inthe final 44 seconds of the third but no fear, as Crowley's Ridge mustered their biggest offense performance of the contest outperforming the Lady Hornets 30-10 in the final frame. CRC ended the contest with a massive 15-0 run with several Lady Pioneers earning credit to this game winning effort but two big three pointers from sophomore Jordan Rasmussen seemed to be the key to flip the favor for CRC.
"After a rocky start, we were finally able to make the necessary adjustments on defense and grind it out. I'm proud of this group for finishing the game strong on a 15-0 run for our first ever AMC win."- Head Coach Chris Richardson
Joi Montgomery led the Pioneers with her 6th consecutive double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds while snatching up 6 steals. Brooklyn Kearbey followed with 17 points, and Kiyuana Foster buckted 12 for the Pioneers.
