Crowley's Ridge- 63
Missouri Baptist University- 66
Paragould, Ark.- In tonight's American Midwest Conference contest, Crowley's Ridge led the Spartans by four after the opening quarter thanks to an explosive start from the offense which rolled out a 21 point effort. The second quarter is where the Pioneers met their first line of resistance from the Spartans as MBU responded in kind with posting their own 20 point effort, outscoing the Pioneers by 7, which allowed the visiting team to take a 37-34 lead into the break. The Lady Pioneers showed heart by reclaiming the lead in the third, thank to big three's from Ansley Dawson and big-time basket drives by Travia Woodruff and Ashanti Jones, but painfully with the Pioneer's offense going cold in the final 10 minutes, the Pioneer's 5 point lead dwindled and a final bucket with :34 seconds left by the Spartans would lift Missouri Baptist ahead for the final time. Brooklyn Kearbey and Ansley Dawson led the team with 12 points, Travia Woodruff led the team in rebounds and steals with 8 boards and 4 steals while bucketing 9 points in the loss.
Up Next: Weather depending, CRC is scheduled to host William Woods University on Saturday, January 11th at 11:00 AM in the Carter Activities Center. #GOPIONEERS
