Paragould, Ark.- The Lady Pioneers losing streak grew to five straight as the Owls of WWU defeated the Lady Pioneers this evening at home in the Carter Activities Center. The Owls led the Pioneers by one at the end of the opening quarter, which they only added to throughout the next three quarters. The Pioneer offense strung together a few runs in the contest, including a big 5-0 run to start the fourth quarter where a Mallory Welch bucket cut the gap to 13, but with the Owls offense outpacing the Pioneers, WWU maintained their distance to claim the conference matchup. Ansley Dawson led the Pioneers with 13 points, and Sara McCain added 10 points to the Pioneer cause.
Up Next: The Lady Pioneers will stay at home, hosting Williams Baptist University on Thursday, February 6th, at 5:30 PM. #GOPIONEERS
