Lady Pioneers Wrap-Up Season with Win on Senior Day- Wil Teague, Sports Information Director, 2/22/25

Lady Pioneer Basketball ended the 2025 season on a high note, defeating Hannibal-LaGrange University this afternoon on the Pioneers' senior day and homecoming. The Pioneers finish the season with an overall record of 10-18.

Paragould, Ark.- The Lady Pioneers picked up a final American Midwest Conference victory this season with a 43-point, avalanche win over the Trojans of Hannibal-LaGrange. The Pioneer defense held HLGU to single-digit scoring in two-quarters today while snatching up 24 steals and forcing 30 turnovers in the contest. CRC shot 43.5% from the floor and also rallied a 35.7% effort from behind the arc. Ansley Dawson paced the Pioneers in the season finale, scoring 15 points, which all came from three-pointers as the Grubbs, Ark. native led the team with a 5-7 shooting effort from deep. Four other Lady Pioneers scored double-digits for the afternoon with senior Ashanti Jones and sophomore Brooklyn Kearbey finishing with 11 points, and freshman Kynslee Ward and senior Travia Woodruff finishing with 10 points. Woodruff, the program's all-time assist and steals leader, added to her legacy by leading the team in both categories in her final contest dishing out a team-best 8 helpers and 6 steals in the conference win. 

"I'm proud of all of the girls - especially the four seniors - for ending their season with a win. All of the seniors were able to exit the contest on a made shot. We were able to attack the basket and force 20 turnovers in the half compared to just 3 for us.
