Bio:

Montgomery, Alabama native, Austin Harrell, graduated from Alabama Christian Academy in 2012 before attending Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology in 2016 and his Master's Degree in Teaching in 2019. Harrell brings a plethora of experience about the sport, as his journey has given him several opportunities to view the game from different aspects. 

Coach Harrell kick-started his career in 2012-2013 as a Student-Assistant for the Women's Basketball program at Faulkner University, where the Lady Eagles claimed the SSAC West Division Championship en route to a second-round finish at the NAIA National Tournament. 

From Faulkner, Harrell made his move to Harding University, where he again served as a Student-Assistant, though this time it was for the Men's Basketball program. In his three-year stint with the NCAA DII Bison, Harrell helped the program to two GAC Conference Championships, 2014 & 2016, as well as two NCAA DII tournament berths. 

For the 2016-2017 season, Harrell spent it with Northwestern State Men's Basketball, serving as a Graduate Assistant for the Demons before making a transition to the High School level.

Since 2017, Harrell has racked up 5 years of Head Coaching experience, serving as Head Boy's Coach at Des Arc High School (2017-2018), Head Boy's at Rose Bud High School (2018-2021), Assistant Boy's at Beebe High School (2021-2022) and then as Head Boy's at Beebe High School taking over the program for the (2022-2023) season.

We want to establish a Culture of JOY (Jesus, Others, Yourself) in everything that we do. We will work hard to pursue excellence on the court, in the classroom, in the community, and in life."- commented Harrell.

Austin Harrell is married to Hannah Harrell, and they share two children: a three-year-old daughter, Emory, and a one-year-old son, Nash.
