Crowley's Ridge- 1

Lyon College- 3

Paragould, Ark.- After being on the road for the last 11 games, Crowley's Ridge Volleyball defended their home court tonight as they hosted Lyon College, NCAA DIII, in the Carter Activities Center. Crowley's Ridge, currently on a three-game losing streak, needed some luck to bust them out of the losing rut but couldn't find any as the Scots proved too much. Lyon College claimed the two opening sets before CRC fought off elimination with a set three win, but the Pioneers couldn't hold off the Scots forever as they fell to Lyon in 4 sets of action. In the opening set, CRC couldn't settle their feet underneath them as the Scots offensive attack put CRC's defense to the test early. CRC quickly fell behind and never caught up to the Scots as the visiting team took set one with relative ease, 25-12. Set two, CRC showed new life as Paige Glenn stuffed the Scots at the net, giving CRC a 5-3 lead, but Lyon quickly reclaimed the lead over the Pioneers. Though now trailing, the major difference in this set compared to set one was the Lady Pioneers stayed within range, mostly trailing the Scots by as little as one for the majority of the set. CRC even reclaimed the lead in late frames with Jillian Glasgow and Emi Elms landing kills, giving CRC a 22-21 lead, but unfortunately, the Scots rallied off a hard 4-0 run, claiming the second set and putting CRC on the chopping block. With their backs to the wall, the Lady Pioneers got off to their best start of the night as they climbed ahead 6-1 with the help of two kills from Alexis Weirich. The Scots gave the Lady Pioneers a run for their money as they climbed back into the set but with Paige Glenn catching fire and slamming 4 kills in a row, CRC finished off the Scots with a second 6-1 run taking set three 25-19. Now, after avoiding defeat, CRC fought hard in set four by leading the contest until the Scots rallied off a 7-1 run, matching CRC 12-12. For the remainder of the set, CRC and the Scots would trade points as it took extra frames for Lyon to defeat CRC 27-25.

Jillian Glasgow gathered another double-double for the season co-leading the team in assists with (20) and collecting (14) digs. Jadyn Hesse tied Glasgow with an additional (20) Pioneer assists and (1) service ace. Kinley Matlock led in digs with (23) while Paige Glenn claimed the high score in kills with (11) and added (4) blocks in the 4-set defeat.
