NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – CRC continued a lengthy road trip by visiting Central Baptist (Ark.) College where the Mustangs won both games in Tuesday's doubleheader, first in an 11-5 contest before ending the day with an 18-7 final.

GAME ONE

Crowley's Ridge – 3

Central Baptist – 8

Crowley's Ridge (19-21) had a good start to the first game after Nate Finney (SR/Oran, Mo.) led off with a single, followed by a set of walks loading the bases with one out. Any hope for early runs was erased when Central Baptist (20-13) turned an inning-ending double play.

A double followed by a home run in the bottom of the first inning sparked CBC to a four-run first inning. The Mustangs would answer with a set of three-run innings in the second and fourth frames.

Phoenix Beal (JR/Advance, Mo.), Zorey Chipman (JR/Wilson, Ark.), and Bobby Wright (JR/Sikeston, Mo.) individually accounted for all four Pioneer runs off of the long ball. Beal leadoff solo homer starter the third inning, with Chipman blasting a solo shot of his own in the fourth inning. Wright's round-tripper in the seventh inning was with Noah Overshine (JR/Jonesboro, Ark.) on base, but no other runs would cross to put an end to the first game with CBC getting the 8-3 win.

Chipman led the Pioneers with two hits, including the home run.

Jack Roney (FR/South Fulton, Tenn.) picked up the loss on the bump, giving up three homers in four innings of work.

GAME TWO

Crowley's Ridge – 7

Central Baptist – 18

The Pioneers (19-23) hoped that Nate Finney's run in the top of the first inning would be a shot in the arm to drive in more runs. On the one hand, it did, as CRC plated a total of seven runs. On the other hand, Central Baptist (22-13) had a rally of their own to tally 18 runs in game two.

The Mustangs scored five runs in the sixth, four in the third, and three in the sixth inning to batter the Pioneer bullpen with 16 hits.

Phoenix Beal cut into the lead in the top of the second inning by singling home Zorey Chipman. Nate Finney's double in the fourth inning also plated a run.

The big inning for the Pioneers was the top of the fifth inning with Chipman, Zach Duty (SR/Paragould, Ark.), Finney, and Chipper Lamb (JR/Melbourne, Ark.) each driving in single runs.

Despite the loss, CRC had 13 total hits, led by Finney and Duty each gathering three hits. Eli Milam (FR/Pleasant Plains, Ark.) came in to take over behind the plate in the fifth inning and collected a hit in both of his plate appearances, joining Chipman and Gossett with two hits each.

Bo Hale (SO/Burdette, Ark.) was tabbed with the loss, pitching 1.2 innings of work. Kenny Nelms (FR/Ector, Texas) and Brady Becerra (SO/Paragould, Ark.) relieved Hale with all three pitchers recording two strikeouts each.
