PIONEERS CRUISE TO CONFERENCE OPENER WIN
PARAGOULD, AR - Crowley's Ridge College held UHSP to 13 first half points and only 43 points for the game, including a 20% shooting effort on the night en route to a 79-43 American Midwest Conference opening win. The Eutectics shot 10 for 50 on the night and only three for 28 from the three point line in the loss.
Zak Brown led CRC with 17 points in the win. Timquorian Johnson and Jerrodney Tubbs each added 12 points on the night.
The Pioneers had 23 assists off 28 baskets in the conference matchup.
CRC led the entire game and by as much as 39 points late in the second half. The Pioneers defense held UHSP to 13 points in the first half. That is the fewest points allowed by the Pioneers since November 1, 2011 when they held Blessed Hope College to seven points in a half.
The Pioneers improve to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play. UHSP falls to 5-1 on the season and 0-1 in the AMC.
