PARAGOULD, AR - In a game that had six lead changes and four ties, it came down to the last minute to decide the game between Crowley's Ridge College and Tennessee Southern, with the Firehawks pulling out the 65-63 win.
UT Southern took an early 5-0 lead to start the game until Cole Nichols connected on two free throws with 15:51 in the first half to get the Pioneers on the scoreboard. CRC shot 28% in the first half but managed to keep the score at the break at 29-28 UT Southern.
The second half was back and forth for both teams. Caleb Wade made two free throws with 0:39 to play to tie the score for the fourth time at 63-63. Eric Robinson connected on a Firehawks jump shot to make it a 65-63 lead. A last-second shot from Cam Miller rimmed out at the buzzer for the final play and a UT Southern win.
Miller led CRC with 13 points on the night. Caleb Wade added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Pioneers in the loss.
