Pioneers Fall Twice in Jackson, TN – Wil Teague, Sports Information, Director, 9/13/22

The Lady Pioneers Traveled to Lane College to participate in a Tri- Match against the hosting Dragons of Lane College and the Lions of Freed-Hardeman University.  

Game one:

Lane College- 3

Crowley's Ridge College- 0

CRC fell to host team Lane College in their first matchup of the day. The Dragons came out with some leap in their step attacking the Pioneers early and often. The Pioneers would struggle at the net, seeing Lane College gather 8 blocks on the night against the Lady Pioneers attacks. Crowley's Ridge would double their kills in set two but it would not be enough to cover the spread of the Dragons. They would defeat the Pioneers in three sets.

Leaders for Pioneers:

So. Paige Glenn kills (5). So.  Jadyn Hesse would end with a double double (12) assists and (12) digs.

Game Two:

Freed-Hardeman University- 3

Crowley's Ridge College- 0

CRC would see its best set of the Tri- Match against FHU in set one. CRC would come out hot posting their highest kill set of the evening smacking 12 kills on a smashing .297 hitting percentage out doing FHU who posted a .229. What would be the downfall of CRC in set one would be the Lions' 17 kills of which one of them would be the ending factor in the set allowing FHU to win it 26-24. FHU would post the same hitting percentage in set two, only improving it in their final. Firing a stout .348 in the third set along with stacking on 44 kills in the match compared to CRC's 23.  Ultimately FHU would defeat CRC in a sweep fashion.
