Lady Panthers Best Pioneers Once More - Wil Teague Sports Information Director, 11/5/24

Pioneer Volleyball rematched Philander Smith University this evening after dropping a five-set contest against the Lady Panthers on October 10th in the Carter Activities Center. In this evening's contest, the Lady Pioneers would again go five sets with the Lady Panthers and once more, Philander Smith would prove to be CRC's kryptonite as the Lady Pioneers again fell short to PSU. CRC falls to 8-14 on the year. Sets went as follows: 25-22 CRC, 25-23 CRC, 17-25 PSU, 15-25 PSU, and 12-15 PSU.

Little Rock, Ark.- For the second time this season, the matchup between the Lady Pioneers and Lady Pathers would go a decisive fifth set to determine a winner between the two teams. Like a bad case of deja vu, tonight's matchup would mirror the first contest back on October 10th as the CRC Pioneers claimed the opening two sets before being reverse swept by the Lady Panthers in the final three sets.  Alyssa Dirden led the Pioneer offense with 12 kills followed by Brooklyn Cross with 10 kills. Mallory Hollis paced the team in digs with 24 while Hannah Halverson followed with 20 digs. Halverson also added 9 kills and 5 service aces on the evening. The team's two double-doubles came from setters Jadyn Hesse and Madelyn Burris with Hesse leading with 19 assists and 13 digs and Burris following with 17 assists and 10 digs.

Up Next: CRC returns home for a matchup against Cottey College at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 8th. #GOPIONEERS
