Paragould, AR-  To cap CRC's Family Weekend, the Pioneers improved to 9-14 on the year and 6-0 in the American Midwest Conference with a conference win over Mission University this afternoon in the Carter Activities Center. The Pioneers competed well, holding the Patriots to a 3-1 set match for the afternoon.

Crowley's Ridge claimed the opening set by scraping past the Patriots with a set score of 25-22. The narrow first set win by the Pioneers was credited to a massive nine-point run from the Ridge, where Jillian Glasgow rallied her team from the service line to take the 23-18 point lead after trailing 17-14 just moments before. Set two, the Pioneers faced their only loss of the day as Mission University ever so slightly outstretched the Pioneers, taking the frame, 25-23. MU successfully avoided the set drop with offense and defensive stands at the right time to hold off a consecutive Pioneer comeback win. Set three is where the game's separation kick-started as Crowley's Ridge coasted to a 25-12 win with two massive unanswered point stretches, including a 9-2 run to kick off the set, before officially finishing off the Patriots with another breezy win of 25-13 in set four.

Amiyah Saxton led the Pioneers with 13 kills, followed by Brooklyn Cross, who added 12 kills for the team in the win. Jillian Glasgow led the team in assists with 31, and was followed by Maddie Burris with 17. Defensively, Mallory Hollis led the team in digs with 14, followed by Alyssa Dirden with 12.

Up Next: The Pioneers will hit the road for an AMC matchup against Cottey College on Tuesday, October 14th, in Nevada, MO. #GOPIONEERS
