Pioneer Volleyball suffered its first conference loss of the season in today's American Midwest Conference doubleheader, dropping game one to Stephens College before bouncing back in game two with a three-set sweep over Central Baptist College. The Pioneers settle in at 8-1 in the AMC and 11-15 overall on the year. 

Game 1

Conway, Ark.- The Stephen College Stars took round two over the Pioneers with a four-set win in today's rematch after the Pioneers outlasted the Stars in the Carter Activities Center in five sets on September 12th. In the afternoon's meeting, CRC kicked things off by taking the opening frame with a 25-20 point win against the stars before grueling, dropping the next three sets, 20-25, 18-25, and 15-25. Despite the loss, the Pioneers rolled out double-digit kills in all four sets, totaling 48 kills, and posted a team hitting percentage of .209% but would be snuffed by the Stars, who also hashed out four sets of double-digit kills, totaling 59, and on a .333% hitting percentage. 

Three Lady Pioneers recorded double-digit kills, with Shania Hodges leading with 12, Amiyah Saxton following with 11, and Brooklyn Cross finding 10. Jillian Glasgow led in assists with 29, followed by Maddie Burris with 12. Lastly, Mallory Hollis led in digs with 10.

Conway, Ark.- In game two, the Pioneers sprang back in the win column with a quick three-set sweep over the Mustangs for the second time this season. CRC controlled every aspect of the matchup, leading the Mustags in every category of the contest. The Pioneers manufactured a second contest of straight double-digit kill sets with CRC stringing out 15, 14, and 17 kills on the Mustangs.

Brooklyn Cross led the offense with a career high 17 kills on a .462 hitting percentage. Maddie Burris snuck past Jillian Glasgow to lead the team in assists, with Burris dishing out 22 and Glasgow only 21. Defensively, Mallory Hollis led the team in digs with 13, followed by Alyssa Dirden and Glasgow, who recorded 12 digs in the win. With her 12 digs and 21 assists, Glasgow recorded her 9th double-double of the year.
