HENDERSON, Tenn. – Crowley's Ridge College traveled to the Volunteer State for a tri-match with the Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University Lions and the Dragons of Lane (Tenn.) College. The Lady Pioneers went winless, falling to hosting FHU in straight sets (11-25, 14-25, 12-25) before dropping a four-set tilt with Lane 3-1 (25-23, 17-25, 21-25, 18-25).

GAME ONE

Crowley's Ridge – 0
Freed-Hardeman – 3

Crowley's Ridge (1-3) fell behind the blistering Freed-Hardeman (2-4) attack early, with the Lions posting 14 kills to the Lady Pioneers' five. FHU took the opening set 25-11.

CRC opened up their offensive output by nearly doubling their kill effort in the second set, knocking home nine kills, including a service ace from Brooklynn Passmore to cap a four-point run early. The Lady Lions bounced back to win the second set 25-14 before collecting the final set win 25-12 to sweep the Lady 'Neers.

Seven of nine Lady Pioneers to hit the floor in the afternoon's first game earned a kill, with Passmore leading the way with six. Jadyn Hesse set up her team for success with 22 assists.

GAME TWO

Crowley's Ridge – 1
Lane – 3

The Lady Pioneers (1-4) bounced back by getting into the set win column in the second match of the day. However, the Lane (1-4) Dragons picked up their first victory of the year after taking the last three sets.

Continuing her blistering pace behind the service line, Kaitlyn Perkins picked up two service aces in three tries as the Lady Pioneers picked up the first set victory 25-22.

Fatigue began to set in as the Dragons opened the second set with seven unanswered points to take a lead they would never relinquish, evening the match with a 25-17 win.

The Lady 'Neers jumped ahead to a 16-10 advantage in the third set, but Lane would answer to eventually tie the set at 18-18. The Dragon momentum could not be slowed as Lane took a 2-1 set advantage with a 25-21 win. The wind out of the CRC sails saw Lane pick up the final set victory 25-18 to claim the match win.

Every Lady 'Neer to get into the rotation minus one recorded a kill in the second match's effort. Emi Elms broke into double-digits with a 10-kill performance. The reigning Continental Athletic Conference Defender of the Week put on a strong show in the second match by pulling up 29 digs.
