MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa – Crowley's Ridge bounced back from a pair of Friday defeats in the Continental Athletic Conference Classic by besting the hosting Iowa Wesleyan Tigers 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-22) before falling in the final matchup of the weekend 3-1 to Lincoln Christian (Ill.) University (25-21, 15-25, 19-25, 20-25).

Match One

Crowley's Ridge - 3

Iowa Wesleyan - 1

The Lady Pioneers (6-9, 1-3 CAC) were slow to get started, falling behind 2-9 before and Olivia Deckelman anchored rally pulled CRC within three points. A late push by CRC kept the set close, but the Lady Pioneers fell in the opener 25-20.

Crowley's Ridge had the most stifling defense in the second set, holding IWU (1-19, 0-4 CAC) to eight kills while boasting 15 kills of their own. The final three sets had identical score marks with the Lady 'Neers besting the Tigers 25-22 to win the match.

Hannah Halverson posted a double-double in the first match of the day with 10 kills and 18 digs. Emi Elms led the CRC attack with 12 kills while adding three solo blocks.

Match Two

Lincoln Christian - 3

Crowley's Ridge - 1

Despite winning the opening set, the final match of the weekend was less kind to Crowley's Ridge (6-10, 1-4 CAC) who lost the final three sets in a mirror image of the day's first match.

Jadyn Hesse began the festivities with a bang, boasting two of her match's five service aces in the first six rallies of the set. Despite the Red Lions (5-16, 3-0 CAC) having more kills in the first set, Crowley's Ridge fought back to win the set 25-21.

The Lady Pioneers would stumble in the second set, reaching a total of 15 points before falling in the final two sets to allow Lincoln Christian to end CRC's weekend with a 3-1 loss.

Hannah Halverson ended her afternoon with nine kills and 12 digs, while Hesse totaled five service aces.
